Race # 5 results By John Sainz
May 8, 2010:It was an
unusual night of racing at Oakland Valley Speedway last night with the high
gusty wind conditions, blowing dust and
canopies and hats all over the place, it also knocked out power for a while
during the second practice round, causing track officials to try and get the
show in before dark. So we went with doing 1 heat race and then right into
features. Well the features for the first few classes went off well, and then
the dark clouds and rains came. It only
rained for a short time, then John Diotte and his crew brought the track back
into racing shape before long, and we were racing again. Great job they did. Good
news was that the power came back on and we were able to finish the features
under the lights. Great Jr.Slingshot race with Michelle Campbell picking up the
win. And a wild Lights race with a four wide attempt that didn’t quite work
out. Randy McCullough, starting in the rear of the field in the Heavys
class,powered his way up to take the win.
Reminder, the Heavys will be having
their big money race this weekend with Saturday night Thunder. Come on out and
have some fun with the Best racing around!
