Race # 24 Results by John Sainz
October 23, 2010; Well, with only one more race to go in our racing season
before Novemberfest, there were a lot of good races run at Oakland Valley
Speedway tonight. It started out with the Lights class and it was Eddie Sickles
picking up his first win over a hard charging Steve Gully. In our Heavys class,
Bill Wood took the win for his second of the year with Chris Daley right on his
bumper. Daley was DQed for an untagged engine. In the Junior Clone class,
Jessica Mattera picked up her 14th win of the season and her brother
Robert Mattera took the win in Rookie Champs.
Johnny Diotte,III
made his racing debut in the Kid Kart class and looked very good. But it was
Nicholas & Kyleigh Russo taking the win. In the Junior Sportsman Champ
class, Paulie Tigue,Jr took the win over Matt Addona.
He also took the points lead back over Anthony Wood in the closest point race
left this season. In the Junior 2 class, Tyler Belanger took the checkered flag
in his Junior 2 debut, but was underweight . The win
was awarded to his brother Colin Belanger, who was right on his bumper at the
flag. In Junior 3, Patrick Hayes picked up his first win of the season, the
third different winner in the first three races in this class.
In Junior Stock, Danny Hoeffner was back to
his old self, picking up his class leading 13th win of the season.
In Senior Stock, Jeff Brown took the checkered flag over me by .067 of a
second. Another lap I would have had him! That was a fun race. He picked up his
first win this season. In Senior Rookie, Karl Then took the win over Dan (our flagman) Ryder. Dan has been coming on strong lately. And yes,
there were Animals on the track tonight. The Animal class had Vito Iannarella,Jr in a battle with
Geoff Feola, and it was Vito Jr. picking up the win. Those Animals are fast!
In our Junior Slingshot race, it was a very
fast Danny Buccafusca cruising to his third win in his short time with us. Good
job by him. In the Senior Slingshot class, fast Fred Cannock took the win for
his 5th win of the season with points
leader Tyler Pirone second. Thanks to all the racers and their crews for
another great night of racing.
