OVRP Dirt Oval Report

By: John Schoebel

Unfortunately I have to keep this article very short since I need to finish up some essays and projects for my college courses. With only a couple weeks left in this semester it is crunch time!

Cuddebackville, NY – The threat of rain caused many teams to stay home and not take the risk of a wash out. However the OVRP Dirt Oval ended up having great weather for the day with the sun peaking out most of the afternoon. The track showed similar conditions to last weeks, being slightly dusty, no grip, and slow. Many lap times again this week were about five tenths of a second slower than what everyone is used to. With that chance of rain in the area, there were only 87 entries for night.

This week you will notice the results are listed instead of in paragraph form. When the article was posted on OWR, it took up too much space to list them. I am going to give it a try this week and see how it goes. I’d appreciate any feedback on what you think!

Kid Karts:

1. (#125) TJ MacChurch (3.124 – fastest lap of the race with an average speed of 230.474mph!) Now that is one fast kid kart! At that speed I think TJ is ready for the Indy 500 coming up at the end of this month! This is the second week in a row that a transponder has given a crazy time like this; it may be the same transponder causing havoc?
